The Hobbit Producer face suit from J.R.R. Tolkien Family

The family of late author J.R.R. Tolkien filed a $98 million lawsuit against the filmproducers of "The Hobbit" movie trilogies for alleged exploitative merchandizing.

The lawsuit states that the producers broke a merchandizing agreement that only limit Warner Bros., its New Line subsidiary and rights holder Saul Zaentz Co. to produce tangible products such as figurines and clothing and not to electronic and digital rights including an online slot machine.

The lawsuit was filed at the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles on Monday, November 19.

Warner Bros. still not issue comment on the claims. Meanwhile, watch The Hobbit Official Trailer #2.
